Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Milio application ("App") or any related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). The Service is operated by Aldero ("we," "our," or "us"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Milio is a mileage tracking application that automatically detects and records driving trips, classifies them by purpose, calculates IRS mileage deductions, and generates mileage reports. The Service includes a mobile application and cloud-based features for data backup and team management.

3. Accounts

You must create an account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.

4. Subscriptions & Payments

Milio offers free and paid subscription tiers. Paid subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store. By subscribing, you agree to the pricing and payment terms presented at the time of purchase.

• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings.
• Refunds are handled according to Apple's refund policy.
• We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
• Create fraudulent mileage records or misrepresent trip data for tax purposes
• Share your account credentials with others or create multiple accounts
• Use automated means to access the Service (bots, scrapers, etc.)

6. Location Data & Permissions

The Service requires access to your device's location services to function. By enabling location permissions, you consent to the collection of GPS data as described in our Privacy Policy. You can revoke location access at any time through your device settings, but this will disable trip auto-detection.

7. Tax Disclaimer

Milio is not a tax advisor. The mileage rates, deduction calculations, and reports provided by the Service are based on publicly available IRS standard mileage rates and are intended for informational purposes only.

We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of any tax-related calculations. You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of your mileage records and consulting with a qualified tax professional regarding your specific tax situation. We are not liable for any errors in tax filings based on data from the Service.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, features, and content, is owned by Aldero and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal or business mileage tracking purposes.

9. Your Data

You retain ownership of the trip data, notes, and other content you create in the Service. By using cloud backup features, you grant us a limited license to store and process your data solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

You can export your data at any time and request deletion of your account and all associated data.

10. Organizations & Teams

If you join an organization in Milio, your trip data associated with that organization may be visible to administrators. Organization administrators are responsible for their team's use of the Service and compliance with applicable laws.

11. Service Availability

We strive to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice before discontinuing core features.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Aldero shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to lost data, lost profits, or inaccurate mileage calculations.

Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Aldero and its officers, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason with reasonable notice. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the App or via email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
